ARCHITECTURAL PHILOSOPHY

"The environment that man creates becomes his medium for defining his role in it."

Marshall McLuhan

Our responsibility as architects is based on the fundamental principle and understanding of the role of architecture both as a receptor and a catalyst of the dynamic processes in the society. As a leader in this collective enterprise of creating the built environment, the architect must engage, educate and inspire.

Our design approach is context driven; our passion for architecture is focused on creating sustainable buildings and neighbourhoods in dialog with the existing context and expressing certain ideas by the symbolic and universal language of architecture.

The context is multi-dimensional: it is the site, the environment, the tradition, the spirit, the resources; our approach aims to integrate continuity and transformation, tradition and progress.

The context is also defined by the requirements of the society; like every social activity, architecture changes with the development of social and economic standards. We believe that Canadian society presents a unique context for architectural expression - its diversity, tolerance and sense of community are characteristics that encourage new approaches in planning and design.
